Just got home from my follow-up appointment with my orthopedic surgeon. I’ve now seen, via the wonders of x-ray, the hardware they put in my arm . It looks suspiciously like stuff I’ve bought at Home Depot a number of times.

I also got to see my arm from the outside for the first time since before Iris and M’s wedding. Ugh. The first thing I did when I got home was scrub it.

The other day, I was driving around in my fire department truck. I was on a service road, very little traffic, but quite a few pedestrians, so was driving carefully.

As some of you know, I finally got home from Texas last night. And it is good to be home.

Without going into too many details, the trip was somewhat frustrating because my team really didn’t get to do a lot. All in all, that’s a good thing, because the level of injury was much lower than expected and we weren’t needed to provide as much medical care. We also went out originally when it looked

I’m currently in Dallas, doing well and waiting for a new assignment. My team’s been various places in Texas over the past few days and are currently in a hotel here waiting to be sent out again.

Well, my plans for writing more regularly just got put on hold…at least for the next couple of weeks.

I just got notified that I’m going to Florida with my disaster response team in preparation for Hurricane Ike. Don’t know how long I’ll be gone, but probably a couple weeks.
